Sesame Street: Not what it used to be?
OK, I used to watch Sesame street when I was a kid back in the 80s…it was pretty cool…I was watching it recently (yes, I was bored) and I was appalled by how the show had deteriorated. For one thing it seems to have gone down the Barney route a bit. Half the show was Elmo talking in a cutesy baby voice. Now Oscar the Grouch- THAT was a muppet I could relate to! And they got rid of the old intro with the “Sunny Day” song and the kids on sidewalks and replaced it with this chirpy annoying thing. Pretty much the only cool stuff was the stuff you could tell was reused from the 70s and 80s. What is today’s 4- year old to do?
Has something horrible happened, or am I simply losing my mind?
